Alaskan Adventure: Day 1// Travel

Alaskan Adventure: Day 1// Travel

Hi all!

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week! As some of you may know, I was at our Alaskan home for the past two weeks.

And I am excited to share that I created some videos for you all! Today marks the first video of my little series. This was my first attempt at vlogging, or even making a youtube video in general. Vlogging is something that takes time to get a hang of, but I think I did an okay job. Considering it was my first time.

Vlogs and youtube videos in general are fun because if allow you all to see more of my personality, and you will soon learn that I can be a weird individual! hahaha, no shame!

Anyways, here is my FIRST vlog of my Alaskan Adventure series! This video is probably the most boring out of the bunch because it was our first day and most of that day was spent traveling. But stay tuned till Wednesday when I’ll post the second video from my mini series!

Video was filmed with a gopro.

Panning For Gold in Alaska

Panning For Gold in Alaska

This summer we decided to try a little gold panning. We had the materials we needed and a spot in mind.

None of my family member or myself are experienced in gold panning AT ALL, but we thought it would be fun to give it a go.

Do keep in mind that the water from this creek is about 45F.

We still are not sure if we got real gold, but we are sure that there was a lot of fools gold. Either way it was a fun hike up the river.:)

Thanks for stopping by!

Alaskan Cabin in the Woods

Alaskan Cabin in the Woods

Today, July 17th marks the day of our arrival to my birthplace, Alaska! After a grueling six and a half hour flight from Orlando to Seattle and an overnight stay with our very large cat, followed by another short one and a half flight from Seattle to Ketchikan Alaska, and finishing off with a 45 minute boat ride, we finally made it to our home. Meyers Chuck is a very small community with no gas stations, no roads, no cars, no stores, nothing. All that you will find in Meyers Chuck are the wonderful people that reside here, most of them only during the summer months.

I thought I would share with you our little cabin in the woods.
