The Big City

This night in NYC was a particularly freezing one, that my Miami blood was not prepared for. But that aside, we watched one of the most entertaining fashion shows, the YEROC by Corey Woods. The pieces were fantastic and the performance was one for the books.

We found another amazing vegan restaurant, that I wish would make its way down South. Blossoms, was my all time favorite restaurant for the trip, the full menu was vegan and their Truffle, Mushroom Pizza was insanely delicious!

My look for this nights show was one of my favorite pieces from Lilac and Lilies Boutique, in Fort Lauderdale Florida, this flattering white dress. Paired with our Livin’ the MAD Life “Winter Sparkle” tote.

Livin’ the MAD Life

Exciting news everyone! My mom and I have decided to start our own purse and bag company. But there’s a twist! We wanted to bring our personal values into the brand, Livin’ the MAD Life, and have decided to keep it all vegan, cruelty free, sustainable and focused on empowering designs.

For those of you who do not know, my mother is a world renowned artist, who has sold hundreds of thousands of art pieces and has collectors from around the world. Her art has been featured in popular media streams such as the “O” Oprah Magazine, was the cover image for the Interior Design Magazine, and the featured artist and cover for the Spectrum Art Basel in 2015. She also has her art sold in various retail stores across the country such as, Urban Outfitters, Bed Bath & Beyond and Target. Not only that, but she also has art in major hotels, TV shows, celebrity homes and restaurants around the country.

Okay, so enough bragging about how awesome of an artist my mom is.. But that’s what makes the brand even better! My mother will design each bag and we even have original, hand painted purses!

Pretty cool, huh? Well it’s even cooler, because all of our hand painted bags are on thrifted, upcyled bags! Not sure if you knew this or not, but the fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world, only behind the oil industry. Purchasing second hand and thrifted fashion items is a great way to keep sustainable and help reduce the fashion industries, and your, carbon footprint. We have thrifted bags from brands such as Chloe, Steve Madden, Samsonite and more! Some of the pieces date back to the 1950’s, making them a vintage masterpiece!

Although our other collections are not on thrifted bags, they will be designed with the colorful workings of my mom, which makes them a collectors piece and not fast fashion.

What’s even more, is we will never sell a bag that is not vegan or cruelty free. The majority of our bags will be made from PU faux leather.

Biggest Beauty Secret

I am sure you have all heard of this amazing secret, that even the top of the top models swear by. It’s good for your skin, fitness and overall health. And it is one of the most important necessities for life. Have you figured it out yet?

It is water!

Yes water, we all need it, but most people don’t make it a habit to drink enough. I myself set a personal goal to finish, at minimum, one full gallon jug of water. I usually tend to go a little over a gallon. But boy when I don’t drink my gallon, if I’m super busy that day or travelling, I notice a huge difference in the way I feel, perform and look.

So if there was one thing I would recommend everyone to do, it would be to challenge yourself to drink a gallon of water a day, and you’ll see a huge difference within a week!

That being said, fall is upon us, and it is never to early to start working towards that summer bod. Rather than waiting till spring and feeling the need to workout excessively and track your foods.

With that in mind, I’ve found an amazing new water that is perfect for those days when you need an extra boost of energy, and a good way to fill that gallon up. It’s called 3 Water! I use it before my workout because there is some caffeine, which gives me a little pick me up. It’s Ph balanced, which is always my preferred choice of water, and of course it has tons of electrolytes! So why not switch things up a bit and try water that is ever better than regular water!

Perfect for pre workout, or a day by the pool! You can honestly never have enough water!

Fun tip: I use 3 water and mix it with my preworkout before, for an extra boost of energy!

Staying Active

Staying Active

Staying active and healthy should not be a chore, but it sure seems like one. The gym can be so boring, and it seems so easy to lose motivation.

I have been an athlete for most of my life, so I have always had someone there motivating me and telling me what to do, but now that I no longer play any competitive sports, it’s hard.  I tried the gym thing on my own, and it was soooo boring! So I have decided to skip the gym and do fun things to help stay in shape. I think the key to staying healthy and happy is to do the things that you enjoy! It will keep you motivated and wanting to stay active. I personally enjoy playing volleyball, so going out to the beach and playing with friends or going to an open gym and playing indoor is fun and keeps me active. IMG_3602 I have also recently picked up roller blading. I am not very good right now, but practice makes close to perfect! IMG_2003 I key to stay motivated while being healthy is to do things you love, do not make it a chore or your motivation will not last long. I hope you guys have a fun and active day! Get outside and do something you love!
