My Transformation

Transformations physically, mentally and most importantly… for this blog.

It’s been quite a hot minute since I’ve dabbled in the blogging world, but I am making a conscious effort to start it back up, and this time with a lot more thought and meaning behind each post. Bye to the days of meaningless outfit posts and hello to what really goes on in this interesting world I live in. Of course, I may throw in a few outfits that I can’t help but share. But I’ve always had a passion for writing and I love being able to put some more personality into my blogging.

Which leads me into my first post, and one that I never imagined I would be making. As you may know, I’ve lived in Miami for about 3 years now and I would not want to live anywhere else. But of course, living in Miami, it’s easy to get drawn into the unrealistic beauty standards. I’ve never had any major insecurities about my looks or even had a thought cross my mind about plastic surgery or physical alterations of any sort. Perhaps a little tattoo or piercing, but I was even skeptical of those. Until… I ended up working for an extremely talented plastic surgeon here in Miami, Dr. Rian Maercks. How I ended up there is an interesting story in itself, but today I just want to share my transformation, because I think it’s pretty darn amazing.

Whenever we typically think of filler, we think of big duck lips and giant, overfilled chipmunk cheeks, which I personally do not find attractive. Quickly after spending a few weeks at this new job of mine, it was clear that what Dr. Rian A. Maercks was doing, with filler, was a completely different story. We would have gorgeous supermodels walk through our doors, looking perfect, and end up leaving even more perfect. He likes to use the phrase “unlocking your inner beauty” which is the perfect way to describe it.

(Sidenote: I feel compelled to say that I did not have any push or outside reasons for sharing this story, besides the fact that I think I look dope AF and find this sort of stuff interesting. k thanks.)

So let’s just go ahead and fast forward some months later, after 21 syringes/CC’s/ml’s of hyaluronic acid filler, in my face, later. Woahhhh 21! Yeah, it’s a lot of filler compared to pretty much everyone else in the world, but the magician, aka Dr. Maercks, has the most crazy, artistic and amazing technique, that requires a buttload more volume, to give you a very natural result. Okay, you can read about it here, because I just want to get to the fun part already, the before and afters!

All of these photos are completely unfiltered/unaltered in any way. In both before and after I am wearing no makeup, I am in the same room and taken with the same camera. And you’ll for sure notice my hormonal acne was cured, also thanks to Dr. Maercks and his acne protocol

So let’s do a kind of breakdown of sorts, although these numbers are estimates.

My eyes, nose, lips, and chin all have filler.

My eyes and temples have about 10CC’s of filler in total (5CCs each side) this removed my undereye bags, filled in the hollow of my temples, lifted my brows, lifted my cheeks, thinned the appearance of my face and took away from the heaviness of my cheeks.

My nose has around 5CCs of filler in total. He made my nose longer, to fit my face better, made it more straight, boosted out the base to give me more tip projection, and hide my nasal labial folds a little more. And he gave me a more pointed, lifted and overall cutest nose ever. (I’m totally obsessed with his liquid rhinoplasty’s, and am dying for more!)

My lips have about 4CCs in total. 2CCs were injected into the pink of my lips (per my request) for bigger, juicier lips and the other 2CCS were placed around the border of my lips and my cupids bow to blend it with the rest of my face.

My chin has about 2CCs of filler to boost out my chin and blend it with my lips and nose. This also disguised my little turkey gobbler a little more. (Also another thing I’m obsessed with.)

One common question is regarding pain and whether it hurts. First off, yes, there are needles being stuck into your face. But it’s honestly so painless, the only part that is a little more tender is the tip of the nose. Aside from that, your face actually gets super numb, it’s more of a weird feeling than pain. And recovery for me is very minimal, I do not swell that much and I hardly bruise, but others can have different experiences than mine of course.

Now after seeing all of the volume that was put in my face, one would think it would be obvious. But some of my friends and family still say they can’t really notice a difference. And my dad was never able to tell, until this blog post of course.

So this concludes my first blog post of 2019, a little late, but I’ll do my best to share more.

If you can’t tell already, Forever 21 takes up a large portion of my wardrobe. 😛 This outfit was a fun mix between from cute summer pieces and a touch of fall with my suede skirt and loose cardigan. It’s forever summer in Florida, but we can pretend sometimes.

Fun Tip Friday// How to Cure Chapped Lips

Fun Tip Friday// How to Cure Chapped Lips

We all know the pain of cracked, dry lips, so today I am here to suggest some tips to help!

Sometimes applying loads and loads of chapstick is not the answer to dry, chapped lips.

Just like our skin our lips need exfoliation. Therefore, in order for our lip moisturizers to do their job, they need a fresh exfoliated surface to work with. There are many ways to exfoliate your lips, you can: Use a toothbrush to scrub your lips, or a towel. You can even use scotch tape (place tape on lips and slowly peel off), or you can use a lip scrub, which you can find at most places, or you can make your own using sugar and oils.

After you have exfoliated, follow up with your favorite lip moisturizer.

My current favorite is Lip Service by LUSH.

So this winter make sure you don’t forget to exfoliate your lips!

This was the perfect ending to our family picnic today. Pairing this with some vanilla ice cream would be magical!

I hope you enjoy and let me know if you end up recreating this recipe!

Thanks
