The Versace Mansion

The Versace Mansion

Formerly known as the Versace Mansion, The Villa Casa Casuarina is definitely a must see destination, only steps away from Miami Beach. Although the only way to take a peek inside of the mansion is through a dinner reservation at Gianni’s, a booked stay at one of the ten different suites, or some other form of reservation, you should take any opportunity you have to explore the amazing grounds.

Today, I was lucky enough to spend the morning exploring the mansion and snapped some images; from the Azure suite, to the stunning pool made of 24 karat gold! I was definitely itching to jump in the pool with this crazy Florida summer heat, next time I’ll remember to pack a swimsuit.

A Foodies Paradise

Living in Miami, Florida, I am constantly surrounded by amazing food. So I thought it would only be fair to share the amazing foods I find.

I decided to start out this new foodie series with a few places that will be first on my list to try. You’ll probably notice most of the restaurants I’ll be testing out are relatively healthy, because I try to maintain a mostly plant based diet, besides the occasional treat here and there.

Plant Theory
744 6th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139

A botanical, vegan cafe with an amazing raw food selection!

Jugo Fresh
1935 West Ave #102, Miami Beach, FL 33139

I’d imagine you could get almost any sort of detox juice and smoothie you could imagine. But I am particularly dying to try one of their bowls.

Another eatery for the health conscious eater. Particularly looking forward to their Let-Us-Wrap and veggie soup.

Maoz Vegetarian
1657 Washington Ave Miami Beach, FL 33139

If only to try their falafel! This “chipotle styled” restaurant is definitely bringing back some memories from one of my favorite falafel places, Hubbly Bubbly,in my other home town, Winter Park.

Sugar Factory
Hotel Victor, 1144 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139

So this place will definitely have to be saved for a time when I am really feeling like splurging. All of this healthy food will be out the window after I indulge in one of Sugar Factory’s gorgeous milkshakes!

Cooking Alaskan Dungeness Crab

Cooking Alaskan Dungeness Crab

What’s for dinner??

crab2

One of my all time favorite foods is fresh Alaska Dungeness Crab. Today we were fortunate enough to get some fresh crab and we never fail to use the same recipe every time. This recipe is quick, easy and delicious! You can also use this same recipe for prawns (shrimp). If you are looking for a quick meal in under 20 minutes, this is the one for you.

You Need:

Crab

Old Bay Seasoning

1 cup. Apple Cider Vinegar

1 Can of Budweiser Beer (optional)

 crab4

You will want to start boiling 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar. We did not have any beer otherwise we would have added the one can of  Budweiser to the apple cider vinegar.

Then coat the crab in the Old Bay seasoning.

Once the liquid starts to boil steam the crab over it for 15 minutes, let them cool and dig in!
