I’m not one to usually sport a crop top, but I have been loving this new grey one! Today in Florida it’s just getting over a cold front, so it’s not cold but not quite sweltering out.
On days like today it’s great to wear shorts and a crop top, but just bring along a light jacket in case it gets chilly!

As some of you may know from my previous post (here), I have been volunteering at a non profit monkey sanctuary in Clewiston, Florida called The Talkin’ Monkeys Project.
As part of graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University, we are required to perform a certain amount of community service hours as well as create a project to showcase what services we have been performing for these places. So without further waiting, here is the video my group created for our final project. Hope you enjoy!
A part of graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University is volunteering for 100hours at a non profit organization. As a transfer student I am only required 40, but today I found the place I will be acquiring all 40 hours, plus some!
There is this amazing project called The Talkin’ Monkeys, and they are literally doing such a awesome things for these animals.
A few of the primates here were saved from horrible, abusive homes, and now live in an amazing sanctuary where they are well looked after 24/7.
Today was only orientation so we did not do too much interactive activities, but I am looking forward to spending many hours here.
I will be posting more about my time at Talkin’ Monkeys, and I will show you guys the bond I create with these amazing, intelligent animals.
As a full time college student I am short on time, so cooking full out meals is not really an option for most days. This year was the first year I found myself having a full kitchen while at school so I have had to learn to fend for myself and go grocery shopping. It is great being able to make your own foods, but somedays you just do not have the time and patience, or even skill, to make a home cooked meal.
My breakfasts are usually quick and easy, and I try to get in a nice hearty meal for breakfast to fuel me for my long day.
A recent new favorite breakfast of mine involves NO COOKING at all, which is great and quick! If you happen to just be an atrocious cooker and even burn your toast, than the toasted bagel may not be an option for you. ;P
Today I moved into my new apartment on campus at FGCU. It was pretty much an all day event, but I am finally settled in and everything is looking great! Not to mention our apartment sits right by a beautiful lake, for an on campus apartment I am very pleased. I am a transfer student (junior) so this Monday will be my first day as the new girl on campus. Let’s see how It goes!
I live with two other girls, one who I share a room with and the other is a Resident Assistant. We also have a living area, full kitchen, and two bathrooms.
Staying active and healthy should not be a chore, but it sure seems like one. The gym can be so boring, and it seems so easy to lose motivation.
I have been an athlete for most of my life, so I have always had someone there motivating me and telling me what to do, but now that I no longer play any competitive sports, it’s hard. I tried the gym thing on my own, and it was soooo boring! So I have decided to skip the gym and do fun things to help stay in shape. I think the key to staying healthy and happy is to do the things that you enjoy! It will keep you motivated and wanting to stay active. I personally enjoy playing volleyball, so going out to the beach and playing with friends or going to an open gym and playing indoor is fun and keeps me active. I have also recently picked up roller blading. I am not very good right now, but practice makes close to perfect! I key to stay motivated while being healthy is to do things you love, do not make it a chore or your motivation will not last long. I hope you guys have a fun and active day! Get outside and do something you love!
It is about that time again when we gather our stuff and head back to school, or maybe this is our first time leaving home for college. Either way, it’s always fun to redecorate or add a few new pieces to your room.
I used to be in LOVE with pink and the past two years while at college my room was veryyyy pink! haha
I have grown out of the pink, though it is still one of my favorite colors. But I have strayed towards the more beachy colors such as turquoise, tan and even purples!
So this time around I got quite a few new things for our room. And I would love to share a couple of my favorite new decorations!
Elephants are my favorite animal, and this little box will be perfect for storing little odd and ends.
The tray will also be a good way to stay organized, It would be good for storing papers, or lotions and perfumes.
