Introlift Girls Night

What’s better than a girls night out? A girls night out getting pampered at Introlift Medspa. As many of you may know, I love my natural cosmetics and beauty treatments, in one of my past posts, I go into detail about my filler and all of the filler work I have had done. And today I want to share one of my new favorite medical spas.

I recently had an Aqua facial at Introlift, and can easily say it was the best facials I’ve ever received. From the service, environment, esthetician and my glowing skin after, it was top quality. So when Introlift hired on Plastics Media to coordinate an Influencer Girls Night, I was all for it!

A night full of delicious food, drinks, mini treatments and goodie bags!

I decided to try the Exilis skin tightening for my arms, an area that I always struggle with at the gym. It was quick and painless and I love all of the different treatments and technology they offer.

What is the Aqua Facial?

“This treatment is the only hydradermabrasion procedure that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection simultaneously, resulting in clearer, more beautiful skin with no discomfort or downtime. Start your skin maintenance program now with the RF Aqua Face Lift treatment to slow down your skin’s aging process and delay the need for invasive procedures.”

Cannabis For Your Face?!

Nowadays everything seems to be CBD! And would have ever guessed cannabis would have such amazing health benefits for your skin also! I first heard about a cannabis facial from the lovely ladies at Clean Start in Miami where I came across Lex, the esthetician, who had been showing her amazing before and after photos from the CBD facial. My skin is mostly hormonal, meaning every few weeks I’ll tend to get a bit of a breakout, which will then go away once my hormones are back to normal. It just so happened I was going through this phase when I went in to see Lex, who gave me this CBD facial and let’s just say, I was glowing!

The whole experience was luxurious, relaxing and I felt like my skin was getting so many amazing benefits from the different treatments Lex did. Lex used a fresh batch of natural, vegan and organic products during my facial which had a combined 2,000mg of CBD. CBD is used in skincare to help rebalance your skin and has been known to help those with rosacea, eczema and hormonal acne. During my facial, I had everything from extractions, exfoliating mask, moisturizing mask, light therapy, and a facial massage. And once the facial was over I felt in such a state of relaxation and I could tell my skin was glowing from the inside out.

Lash Lift & Tint

In the last few years, I have noticed a frenzy over lash extensions, microblading, permanent lip tint, and lash lifts. I am someone who tries to keep fairly low maintenance, meaning a lash extension would not be a good choice for me, a week in I would be left with only a few straggler lashes and I would not be the type to go in for regular touch-ups. Which is why I decided to try a lash lift and tint. This uses your real lashes but applies a lift that can last around 20 days and a tint to make your lashes stand out more. I’ve always had light lashes and ones that grew straight out, so without an eyelash curler and some good mascara, they would be virtually invisible.

Today I was fortunate enough to get a lash lift and tint, and an unexpected brow tint, which I am absolutely in love with. The beautiful Karina from Wild Love Miami took amazing care of me and used all-natural products to assure my lashes would not receive any damage.

The process took around 30 minutes and was quite comfortable considering you had to keep your eyes closed.

Overall, I am so happy with the results, the process and the esthetician! This is a much more reasonable option for me to still enjoy the fake eyelash look, while keeping it natural and having minimal upkeep. Make sure to follow my instagram @aroonmelane to follow along! And Wild Love Miami @wildlovemiami.

Safe to say I’m in love with the results and recommended Karina, from Wild Love Miami, 10/10!

My Transformation

Transformations physically, mentally and most importantly… for this blog.

It’s been quite a hot minute since I’ve dabbled in the blogging world, but I am making a conscious effort to start it back up, and this time with a lot more thought and meaning behind each post. Bye to the days of meaningless outfit posts and hello to what really goes on in this interesting world I live in. Of course, I may throw in a few outfits that I can’t help but share. But I’ve always had a passion for writing and I love being able to put some more personality into my blogging.

Which leads me into my first post, and one that I never imagined I would be making. As you may know, I’ve lived in Miami for about 3 years now and I would not want to live anywhere else. But of course, living in Miami, it’s easy to get drawn into the unrealistic beauty standards. I’ve never had any major insecurities about my looks or even had a thought cross my mind about plastic surgery or physical alterations of any sort. Perhaps a little tattoo or piercing, but I was even skeptical of those. Until… I ended up working for an extremely talented plastic surgeon here in Miami, Dr. Rian Maercks. How I ended up there is an interesting story in itself, but today I just want to share my transformation, because I think it’s pretty darn amazing.

Whenever we typically think of filler, we think of big duck lips and giant, overfilled chipmunk cheeks, which I personally do not find attractive. Quickly after spending a few weeks at this new job of mine, it was clear that what Dr. Rian A. Maercks was doing, with filler, was a completely different story. We would have gorgeous supermodels walk through our doors, looking perfect, and end up leaving even more perfect. He likes to use the phrase “unlocking your inner beauty” which is the perfect way to describe it.

(Sidenote: I feel compelled to say that I did not have any push or outside reasons for sharing this story, besides the fact that I think I look dope AF and find this sort of stuff interesting. k thanks.)

So let’s just go ahead and fast forward some months later, after 21 syringes/CC’s/ml’s of hyaluronic acid filler, in my face, later. Woahhhh 21! Yeah, it’s a lot of filler compared to pretty much everyone else in the world, but the magician, aka Dr. Maercks, has the most crazy, artistic and amazing technique, that requires a buttload more volume, to give you a very natural result. Okay, you can read about it here, because I just want to get to the fun part already, the before and afters!

All of these photos are completely unfiltered/unaltered in any way. In both before and after I am wearing no makeup, I am in the same room and taken with the same camera. And you’ll for sure notice my hormonal acne was cured, also thanks to Dr. Maercks and his acne protocol

IMG_0525IMG_0526IMG_0527

So let’s do a kind of breakdown of sorts, although these numbers are estimates.

My eyes, nose, lips, and chin all have filler.

My eyes and temples have about 10CC’s of filler in total (5CCs each side) this removed my undereye bags, filled in the hollow of my temples, lifted my brows, lifted my cheeks, thinned the appearance of my face and took away from the heaviness of my cheeks.

My nose has around 5CCs of filler in total. He made my nose longer, to fit my face better, made it more straight, boosted out the base to give me more tip projection, and hide my nasal labial folds a little more. And he gave me a more pointed, lifted and overall cutest nose ever. (I’m totally obsessed with his liquid rhinoplasty’s, and am dying for more!)

My lips have about 4CCs in total. 2CCs were injected into the pink of my lips (per my request) for bigger, juicier lips and the other 2CCS were placed around the border of my lips and my cupids bow to blend it with the rest of my face.

My chin has about 2CCs of filler to boost out my chin and blend it with my lips and nose. This also disguised my little turkey gobbler a little more. (Also another thing I’m obsessed with.)

One common question is regarding pain and whether it hurts. First off, yes, there are needles being stuck into your face. But it’s honestly so painless, the only part that is a little more tender is the tip of the nose. Aside from that, your face actually gets super numb, it’s more of a weird feeling than pain. And recovery for me is very minimal, I do not swell that much and I hardly bruise, but others can have different experiences than mine of course.

Now after seeing all of the volume that was put in my face, one would think it would be obvious. But some of my friends and family still say they can’t really notice a difference. And my dad was never able to tell, until this blog post of course.

So this concludes my first blog post of 2019, a little late, but I’ll do my best to share more.

More about Dr. Rian Maercks filler procedure here.

Everything You Need to Know About Microblading

I’m sure most of you have heard about micro blading by now, a technique used to make your brows look naturally fuller and shaped, without having to fill them in!

Microblading defined is “ a form of semi-permanent makeup that provides a means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments.”

I’ve been hesitant to try Microblading, because I heard of stories where the eyebrows ended up looking like a mess, or was under the impression it would be painful. And boy was I wrong!

A couple of months ago I spoke with Anna, from Perfect Brows by Anna, and she walked me through the process and what to expect. I was still hesitant on the procedure and gave myself several weeks to decide wether or not I wanted to try. Never having to fill in my brows again was a dream come true! After following Anna and seeing the amazing work she did, I decided I would give it a go. And boy am I pleased with the results!

I shared my experience on my Instagram and so many of my lovely followers were impressed and amazed at the job Anna did. I had so many questions about the procedure that I wanted to make a full post talking all about Microblading.

What to expect

The procedure took about an hour and a half. Time may vary depending on how much strokes need to be put in your brow to create the proper shape. Every brow and every person is different, but the hour and a half it took me flew by. I will also be going in for my touch up, a month after the initial treatment.

The pain is very minimal. I was expecting it to feel more like when you get your brows threaded or tweezed, but it was honestly even less painful then both. Anna does not use numbing cream because it causes the skin to get soft and mushy which can lead to the technician creating too deep of strokes which may lead to scarring or other unwanted outcomes. I also did not bleed.

How it works. Anna used a very very small utensil that has 18 or 19 tiny little needles used to scratch and place pigment into the skin.

The sound. There is a Velcro like sound during the process. The sound comes from your eyebrow hair gliding between the tiny needles and also the sound of your skin being scratched.

Final Thoughts

I am so so so pleased with the work Anna did, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to get their brows done. The process was much easier than I anticipated and there was hardly any pain at all. After working with Anna, I do not think there is another technician out there who I would feel comfortable with. Her work was superb and I’m so excited with my new brows! Check her out here.
